Drug use is an ongoing problem that has a lot of extreme effects on people. One of the more common drugs we see is the use of cannabis, especially among adolescents and young adults, which can result in delinquency.

This article discusses the relationship between the use of cannibals at a young age and criminal activity. It was found that there indeed is a very strong relationship between these two, because of the later found criminal charges among those under the influence of drug use. Other factors such as socio-economic background and parental support were also included in determining this study.

After reading this article, I noticed the affect that it had on me. A lot of kids who get involved with drugs at such a young age often come from families with very low income. These kids do not have the same opportunity as kids who come from privileged families. Also, a lot of these kids have little to no parental supervision, so I feel as if it is almost hard to blame them for getting involved with drugs because they do not have someone there to teach them right from wrong.

I think it is very sad that kids with lesser or no opportunities have a higher likelihood of getting involved with drug use. It is something to blame a stable adult for becoming involved with these actions, but it strongly affects me to see kids with no parental guidance or opportunities become caught up in this lifestyle.
